What Others Say:

Dave, Caleb and I can’t thank you enough for your help with Caleb’s reading.  I knew he was doing better but just how much was a shock to me.  He has gained so much academically.  He is also more confident in his ability to read.  Every penny we spent was worth it.  Even the prodding and pushing to get him to do his work and get online for class was worth it.  In case you didn’t know, he was never really thrilled about having to do this but did so because we made him.  He admits now that it was all worth it as well.  Thanks so much for helping us to help him.  May you be blessed in your future venture helping more kids and their families. Our daughter has been working with Mrs. Manning for almost two years.  When she started, we were at the end of our rope.  We had tried several different programs to attempt to help her with her spelling and reading comprehension skills, but to no avail.  Our daughter wanted so badly to be doing well in these areas, but no matter what we did, she just could not get it.  When discussing this issue with one of her tutors at Teenworks, she suggested we contact Mrs. Manning.  I cannot begin to tell you the changes we’ve seen over the last couple of years.  Our daughter has improved dramatically in each of the areas she struggled in.  Mrs. Manning’s patience, hard work, and diligence in helping our daughter is invaluable to us.  When we were struggling with job loss and facing foreclosure of our home, we thought for sure we would have to stop tutoring due to our financial circumstances.  Not so.  Mrs. Manning (and Homeschool Works) was willing to work with us and help us to work out a way so our daughter could continue to get the help she so desperately needed.  We are so very thankful for Mrs. Manning and her hard work with our daughter.  The skills and confidence she has given Olivia are invaluable and we firmly believe that Mrs. Manning has changed the course of Olivia’s life by being so diligent and dedicated to her students, and for that, we are forever grateful. METHODS USED:

The teaching methods Webworks Special Tutoring uses are Orton Gillingham and Linda Mood Bell. Gillingham methods use a tactile form of teaching. This system has been around since 1929 when it was formulated by a teacher and a psychologist who worked together to provide a type of “hands-on” tutoring for students who were unable to learn to read and spell with traditional teaching methods… (more) (or download complete info packet here)
